This is a closeup of the early version of my Oil Painting for Erzulie Dantor,                       titled “Dantor’s Song.” I chose this Image as my official gravatar for my blog! I had alot of fun working on this painting, It Is the theme of my Artists’ title and my favorite color, Cadmium Red Deep was used most in this piece!

This is the early version of my Oil Painting for Dantor, before I gave her tears of blood  and added more detail to the daggers for the final piece.
The tears of blood may seem fantastical, but there actually is a medical condition that causes blood-filled tears.
Scaring the pants off even the most experienced Opthamologists is Haemolacria.
Painting the blood and tears was, for me, as an artist, symbolic of the rage and aggression in the Red Eyed aspect of the spirits.

About ErzulieRedEyesArtandSpirit

I love art, I enjoy oil painting and drawing anything I wish. Vodou is my faith and I enjoy creating artistic images of the lwa and spiritual subjects. I also paint and draw other subjects when I'm inspired! When i'm not painting and drawing I enjoy dancing, and spending time with my family. My favorite medium is Oil but I also love to work with graphite pencil, pastels, pen and ink.
